Missouri Governor Supports Embryonic Stem Cell Research

Missouri Governor Supports Embryonic Stem Cell Research

The governor of Missouri, Matt Blunt, told participants at the Missouri Baptist Convention that public money should be used to fund embryonic stem cell research. Blunt presented himself as pro-life and a strong anti-abortion advocate. Despite supporting embryonic stem cell research, Blunt is still supported by the Baptist group, which is opposed to such research. The story was covered by the Associated Press and appeared in several Missouri newspapers, including the Belleville News-Democrat.

There is an effort underway in Missouri to put an initiative supporting stem cell treatment on next year’s ballot.

It's about time the Midwest starts backing this research. I'm a young stroke survivor w/ no left side that this research would help. Let's go for it. There are too many people suffering w/ neurological damage & many others that could be cured. GO FOR ALL OF IT!!
