Weekend Round-up
Well, it's been slow. The news stories have not been research related.
- Umbilical cord stem cells from the new son of the Crown Prince of Denmark are being stored in a Copenhagen hospital, according to The Australian.
- The South Carolina newspaper The State published a dinky little article on the UCLA project to use stem cells in treating AIDS (you read that here first 11/3/05, "Stem Cell Research on HIV).
- Newsweek caught up on the Hwang issue. It's a basic summary but doesn't say much new and completely neglects to discuss how Schatten's withdrawal from the World Stem Cell Hub is what really brought things crashing down around Hwang, or even mention the Stem Cell Hub itself.
- Time has a subscription only article on the year in medicine that begins by talking about Hwang.
And that's about it. I think we're still in post-Thanksgiving news fatigue....
